In these trying times, we need, more than ever, the light of our spirit to help us guide the way. The Hierophant, being of the Number 5, speaks of those trials and tribulations, of those days when it’s hard to get out of bed and harder to go to sleep. The difficulties in life affect us all in different ways. Some of us are dealing with deep loss, severe hardship, or inner yet very real struggles of the heart and mind. But no matter what, The Hierophant points the way to a source of strength and guidance that is always there, never dimmed by the storms of reality. The High Priest reawakens us to our own sacred priesthood, and to our roles as ambassadors of the Divine. Through this energy, we connect back to our Awakening, to our ancestral lineage, and to our spiritual and mystical practices.

Similarly, the Knight of Wands moves through the earth while carrying the sacred Flame. The inner fire of Spirit, and of spiritual awakening, becomes like a furnace in this Knight’s heart, ever burning with courage to face demons and the determination to see to our shared liberation. As Knights of Wands, we are empowered mystics, ready to undergo the soul lessons that have been sent our way in the shape of challenges and trials. Not only that—we let our flame serve to illuminate the paths of our sisters and brothers walking by our side.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” [John 6:3]. There are few guarantees in this world, and suffering and obstacles are two of them. But out shared spiritual practice has shown, time and again, that we are strong enough to face them.
